CAMBRIDGE AREA BROWNS BACKERS

The official website of the

.com

The Cambridge Area Browns Backers club was originally the dream of a couple of guys, Rick Sabo and Larry Parry. Through newspaper and word-of-mouth recruitment, the club was founded in January 2003 by a small group of 12-15 members. Then known as the Cambridge Browns Backers, the name was later changed to Cambridge Area Browns Backers in order to acknowledge the diverse membership of Browns fans from all over Cambridge, Guernsey County, and surrounding areas.

WELCOME to the online home of the Cambridge Area Browns Backers!

From its humble beginnings, CABB now boasts a membership of nearly 300 members. While the majority of the club’s members reside in the Cambridge area, Browns fans from as far away as Lithuania can be counted among our ranks.

As with all Browns Backers clubs, CABB exists as a non-profit organization to actively support  and positively promote the Cleveland Browns. More specifically, our mission is to use our passion for the Cleveland Browns as motivation to make a positive impact on our community through support of local charities and organizations.

Since the club’s inception, CABB Members have participated in numerous events including the State of Ohio’s Adopt-A-Highway Program, the Cambridge Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, the Paul Bunyan Festival,  the Cambridge City Christmas Parade, and CABB’s own Golf Scramble. CABB’s fund raising efforts also support many local charities, including Magical Moments, the Challenger Division, Kiwanis, and Secret Santa, as well as national charities including the Cleveland Browns Foundation and the March of Dimes.

The Cambridge Area Browns Backers were featured in an article entitled “Browns Fans in Steeler Country” in the December 2005 issue of Bernie’s Insiders magazine (now known as the Orange and Brown Report), while also being named Club of the Month by the Browns Backers Worldwide in 2005 and 2010.

Our club takes a bus trip each year to Cleveland Browns Stadium for a selected regular season home game. To view pictures from past trips, visit our Photo Gallery.
